First Nations, Inuit and Metis Story Bead program for grade 2 and up
We are grateful to have received permission from the following Canadian Indigenous authors to draw inspiration from their wonderful books in creating story beads.
To prepare for our workshop, your class will be offered a selection of books from the list below. Students will read the story and identify five elements that resonate with them. In the workshop, each student will craft five beads inspired by the story, serving as a visual aid when retelling the narrative.
The book is yours to keep for your classroom.
This workshop is $15.00 per student. Prices do not include GST.
During the workshop students will build design elements from their story using art glass. The completed beads are taken back to the studio where they are kiln fired.
We then deliver the beads back to the school with the materials needed for assembly.
